NHS was created to promote scholarship, service, leadership, and develop character in students of secondary schools. Membership is offered only to those students selected by the Faculty Council in each school. | |||||||||||||||||||||||

Scholarship means a commitment to learning, even after formal education has ended. Candidates have the charge to continually expand there world through the opportunities inherent in scholarship. Service is the willingness to work for those in need without recognition or compensation. We are committed to the idea of volunteering our time and abilities to the creation of a better tomorrow. Leadership should exert a wholesome influence on the school. The price of leadership is sacrifice. A leader has self confidence and will go forward when others hesitate. Character is the force in each of us that distinguishes a person from another. Characters achieved not received.
